The Missing in America Project, Dignity Funeral Homes and the City of New York have partnered up to inter the unclaimed indigent and homeless veterans currently being stored in coroner’s offices around the city.
The first mission is scheduled for 8 January at 11 am at Calverton cemetery. The bodies of 30 veterans will be transported to the cemetery by a Dignity funeral home where they will receive the honors they have earned.
Future missions will follow as there is a total of fifty nine veterans currently being stored.
All are invited to attend the ceremony at the cemetery.
