Press Release
CAMP FOR LIFE
June 17-19, 2011
This is a combined effort by Shasta/Tehama County community organizations to honor children with serious illnesses from Porterville, Apple Valley, Red Bluff CA to attend a special camp addressing their needs.
All of these children have been diagnosed with serious illnesses. They have little in their lives to laugh and enjoy at their young ages. The camp is intended to give them relief from daily medical trauma and to gain the support system needed to assist them along the way. They will meet other children and families in similar situations as themselves.
Sixteen selected families of the Walmart Heart Program children were invited to come to the camp on Friday night June 17, 2011 at 2 pm and stay until Sunday, June 19, 2011 with a 2pm departure. A total of 87 family members will attend this camp.
Thanks to the Shasta County School District, Whiskeytown National Park services, CA Dept of Fish and Game, Local area businesses for donations. Special Thanks to the Dr’s, nurses and other medical personnel as well as all of the Walmart/MIAP volunteers who will attend and assist with these activities
